BETTER GOVERNMENT STARTS WITH BETTER REPRESENTATION AmySue Mertens is one of those people who wants government to work efficiently for the people. She wants practical solutions for the tough problems which confront this ever-changing, diverse place. She has demonstrated a willingness to work hard. And, there is no doubt that it will take hard work--smart work--to do the job. Our district is both growing and changing. We must start facing the challenges which will arise if Chicago is chosen to host the Olympics. We need a strong voice for improving job growth in our area, and bringing state resources back to the 5th Senate District. We have had to settle for poor quality, selfish politics. It is time for a State Senator who will revitalize our voice in Springfield by speaking up for our interests and bring funding back for the benefit of all of our communities.
